Our Approach to Early Intervention at Juno Kiddo

At Juno Kiddo, we understand that receiving a diagnosis for your child can be overwhelming. We're here to offer a supportive, comprehensive, and compassionate approach through our specialized Early Intervention Program (EIP). Our goal is to empower your child with the skills they need to thrive and to give you, the parents, the tools to support them every step of the way.

We believe that every child is unique, which is why our programs are not one-size-fits-all. Our EIP is built on three core pillars: Behavioral Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy. We integrate these therapies to create a holistic, personalized plan designed to address your child's specific needs and strengths.

Behavioral Therapy (ABA - Applied Behavior Analysis)

Our behavioral therapy program is based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a scientifically-validated approach that focuses on understanding and improving behaviors. Our experienced therapists work closely with your child to develop crucial skills, such as:

  • Communication: Encouraging your child to express their needs and wants effectively.
  • Social Skills: Helping your child learn to interact with others, share, and play cooperatively.
  • Daily Living Skills: Teaching essential self-help skills like dressing, eating, and personal hygiene.

ABA therapy is highly flexible and can be delivered in one-on-one sessions, small groups, or even at home to ensure skills are generalized across different environments. We use positive reinforcement to make learning fun and rewarding, celebrating every small victory with your child.

Speech Therapy

Communication is a fundamental part of connecting with the world, and our speech therapy program is designed to help your child find their voice. Our certified speech-language pathologists (SLPs) address a wide range of communication challenges, including:

  • Verbal Communication: Improving articulation, vocabulary, and sentence structure.
  • Non-Verbal Communication: Teaching the use of gestures, pictures, or sign language.
  • Social Communication: Helping your child understand and use language in social settings (pragmatics).
  • Feeding and Swallowing: Addressing difficulties with eating that may be related to muscle weakness or sensory issues.

We use engaging, play-based activities to make therapy feel like a game, allowing your child to learn and practice new communication skills in a natural, stress-free way.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy at Juno Kiddo is all about helping your child participate fully in their daily life. Our occupational therapists (OTs) focus on the "occupations" of childhood—playing, learning, and interacting. We help children improve their skills in areas such as:

  • Sensory Integration: Assisting your child with processing and responding to sensory information from their environment, which can often be overwhelming.
  • Fine and Gross Motor Skills: Improving coordination and muscle strength for activities like writing, using scissors, running, and jumping.
  • Self-Care Skills: Developing independence in everyday tasks like getting dressed, brushing teeth, and feeding themselves.

Our therapy sessions are designed to be fun and motivating, using swings, sensory bins, and other engaging equipment to help your child build confidence and independence.

At Juno Kiddo, we see a world of potential in every child. We invite you to join our family and let us partner with you on this journey to help your child flourish.
